The Early Interval's Twelfth Night Celebration

1/4/2008 - 1/5/2008
Early Music in Columbus presents The Early Interval in "A Colonial Twelfth Night Celebraiton."

TO THE PUBLICK:
AN ODE TO THE TWELFTH NIGHT

There will be performed at the St. Turibius Chapel of the Pontifical College Josephinum a Concert of Musick (Vocal And Instrumental) to begin precisely at Eight o'Clock in the Evening on Friday, January 4, and Saturday, January 5, and at Half Past Two o'Clock in the Afternoon on Sunday, January 6, 2008.  The Concert will consist of five Acts, commencing and ending with favorite musical selections, performed by a full Band of Musick, with ten capital Performers playing upon violins, bass viols,  English flutes, harp, harpsichord, organ, rackett, hurdy-gurdy,  pipe and tabor, flageolet and every Instrument that can be introduced with Propriety.  A celebrated Band of Singers, eminently distinguished for their accurate Knowledge in the Science of vocal Harmony, have generously offered their assistance on this Occasion.

The Performance will be interspersed with the most pleasing and select Pieces, composed by approved Authors, lately performed to the greatest Acclaim in the several States.  In the course of the Concert will be presented selections performed in the Presence of General Washington, which at a late Publick Concert surprised the audience with Delight.  Between the Acts of the Concert, two or three pieces will be exhibited by a Person who is confident very few in Town ever saw, or can equal, his Performances.  The addition of a Thorough Bass upon the harpsichord and the organ will render the Entertainment much more pleasing and satisfactory, than anything of the kind heretofore experienced in this Town.

In order to prevent the place of Performance from being crowded, a calculation has been made of the number of Tickets struck off, without one of which no Person whatever can be admitted.  Particular Care will be taken to keep the Room warm.  Any Persons desiring a printed Copy of the Plan of the Concert, may have the same gratis, on Delivery of their Tickets at the Door, and Care will be taken that the greatest Order be preserved.
