Six String Concerts Presents: Craig Carothers

Presented by Six String Concerts
1/25/2008
Craig Carothers continues to build on a long career of singing, writing, and plugging away with the work ethic of a driven solo artist. For more than 20 years he performed almost nightly within a 40 block radius in his home of Portland, Oregon. When not at home, he was on tour with or opening for any of a large number of stellar acts, including Rosanne Cash, Leo Kottke, Patty Larkin, Anne Murray, Boz Skaggs, Jethro Tull, Loudon Wainwright III, and Warren Zevon, to name a few.

Carothers's reputation soared when country music star Trisha Yearwood recorded his song "Little Hercules", earning him a gold record. He soon won awards at the Napa Valley Music Festival's Emerging Songwriter Showcase and the Austin Songwriters Contest. One good opportunity led to another, and eventually he was living in Nashville and performing all over the country. Kathy Mattea and Lorrie Morgan have also recorded his songs.
