Exhibition: Elizabeth Fergus-Jean: Veils of Remembrance
3/10/2009 - 5/8/2009
Veils of Remembrance invokes memory and the shadowy territory of how we shape our lives with known and unknown territories. The exhibition, which includes an interactive memory wall, will reference a shared memoir, encouraging self-reflection, integration and collective healing. Elizabeth Fergus-Jean views art making as a transformative process that embraces the archetypal in both highly personal and contemporary contexts. She works in a range of mediums, including painting, drawing, installation art and photography. Fergus-Jean holds a Master of Fine Art from University of Washington in Seattle and a doctorate in Mythological Studies with Emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute of Carpinteria, Calif. In Veils of Remembrance, the Columbus, Ohio interdisciplinary artist and educator weaves together the threads of her mother's life now passed, with her own, to piece together a life re-membered. Exhibition hours are Tues., 10am-7pm; Wed. thru Fri., 10am-5pm; and Sat., 11am-2pm. For more info, 614/889-7444 or www.dublinarts.org.
