Feels Like Home: Works by Curtis Goldstein
1/7/2009 - 1/23/2009
Make a resolution to start your year off with the arts and experience the work of painter Curtis Goldstein at the Concourse Gallery in Upper Arlington.
Through his thought provoking cityscapes, Goldstein encourages an appreciation of the "less than perfect, the slightly worn, the presently out dated." He reflects, "While Americans are flocking to the suburbs to surround themselves with new stuff, they are losing their connection to history. My paintings document the strata of urban change, the relationship between new and old, and the character this gives to a city. Decay can be beautiful as it is a reminder of our own humanity, history, fragility, and natural state of flux. There is beauty in the ordinary, and its potential for rebirth and renewal."
Goldstein's work is on view in the Concourse Gallery in partnership with Art Access.
