Opera Columbus performs selections from La bohème (in English) at WaterFire Columbus

Opera Columbus will perform excerpts from Puccini's classic opera La Bohème. La Bohème is the quintessential romantic opera and was the inspiration for Jonathan Larson's musical Rent. Performed in English, the program will feature the operatic directorial debut of performance artist Robert Post.

Mr. Post has performed his one-man shows throughout the country making stops in New York, Michigan, Colorado and Missouri to name a few. Post has also helped direct various productions including Cinderella, Coppelia and The Nutcracker for BalletMet Columbus as well as theater productions of Noises Off and Urinetown. He serves as an adjunct professor in theater at Ohio State University.

Performing the role of Mimi, soprano Erica Post is currently a graduate student at The Ohio State University and covered the role of Countess Almaviva in their production of Le Nozze di Figaro. Tenor Jon Jurgens sings the role of Rodolfo. He appeared as Basilio in The Ohio State University's Le Nozze di Figaro and was named a 2009 winner the annual Concerto Competition. Singing Musetta will be soprano Karolyn Lee who recently appeared as Gretel in Opera Columbus' touring production of Hansel and Gretel and was seen as the soprano soloist in Opera Columbus' Improv Opera.
