Larry Shue's THE FOREIGNER
Presented by The Columbus Civic Theater
Venue: Columbus Civic Theater
The Columbus Civic Theater presents Larry Shue's great American comedy, The Foreigner. Performances are held 8pm Thursdays through Saturdays, 2pm Sundays, August 30 - September 30, 2012, at the Columbus Civic Theater, 3837 Indianola Avenue in Clintonville, Ohio.
Not since Jack Benny and Carol Lombard outwitted the Nazis in To Be or Not to Be has foiling hate with humor been so delightful! Set in a resort fishing lodge in rural Georgia, the premise is created when two Englishmen, Charlie and Froggy, arrive. Intensely shy, Charlie pretends not to understand a word of English to avoid interaction with the other guests. His plan backfires when he finds himself the unwitting confidant of everyone at the lodge. All of their secrets are shared with him, including a diabolical plot involving the vocal chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. Charlie attempts to stop the Klan's scheme of taking over the lodge without revealing his secret.
The Columbus Civic Theater is located at 3837 Indianola Ave. (at the corner of Indianola and Blenheim). Performances are held Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm, and Sunday afternoons at 2 pm. Ticket prices range from 17.50 to 20.00 and are available online at columbuscivic.org, by phone at (614) 447-PLAY (7529), and at the Civic's box office on the night of performance.
Alexandra Moss directs. The Foreigner features all local performers: Rudy Frias, Justin Eberhard, Rob Tromp, Leslie Robinson, Kaitlyn Jones, Don Roberts and Don Wahlenmaier.
